If you’ve just created your Flo account, you might be curious about how to start using it. We suggest starting by logging the dates of your last period. To do this, tap the pink Log Period button and select the day that your last period started. The number of days indicated in Menu (tap on your avatar in the top left corner) > Cycle and ovulation will be marked as your period.
To edit your period dates, tap the Calendar icon in the top right corner and tap Edit period dates. Then check the required dates and save.
When you scroll to the next month, you’ll see days marked with different colors. These are really easy to understand:
- Predicted period days are in red dotted circles.
- Predicted fertile days are marked in teal. The day inside the teal dotted circle is your predicted ovulation day.
- The black days refer to the days after ovulation and before your next period.
If you’d like to go back to previous cycles and add past symptoms or events, this is totally possible. There are more than 80 symptoms and events to log. To add your symptoms for today, tap “+” at the bottom left corner of the main screen. To customize the symptom screen for yourself, tap Edit next to the Categories and switch the toggle off to start editing.
To get an overview of the logged data for your current and past cycles, navigate to Menu (your avatar) > Graphs & reports.
All information you log will personalize Flo’s insights for you. You’ll get information about your current cycle day and your logged symptoms in stories. It’s a team effort.
Flo Health Assistant will offer dialogs on the information you log and the events in your cycle, such as your period, ovulation, delays, and more. If you have a specific goal in the app — get pregnant or track your pregnancy, for example — we suggest you set it in Menu (your avatar) > My goal. For each goal, Flo offers additional functions, plenty of relevant content in Insights, and tailored daily stories.
If you would like to always be ready for your next period, know when your ovulation is predicted, or start a new good habit — for example, drinking water — go to Menu (your avatar)> Reminders and enable notifications for the events that are important to you.
Please note that the app is not intended to serve as a method of birth control or conception.
